Project Presentation

RULES

• Team of maximum 4 members. All members should be from the same college.
• One of the participant in the group must register for PROVA on the Xplore 2010 site. For registration information go to Rules and regulations page.
• The project should be software or hardware related and can come from any field of computer science.
• The detailed report of their project should be sent to infinity@gcek.ac.in on or before 13th February 2010.
• The report must have the names of all the participants and their contact details (email-id and phone number).
• The report must also contain the requirements of the project (hardware and software) that is to be provided at the venue.
• 6 projects will be selected for the final round.
• The applicants will be informed via e-mail if their project is selected.
• The selected applicants will have to present their project at Xplore 2010.
• The presentation will be of 30 minutes duration. 15 minutes will be for the actual presentation and 15 minutes for questioning.
• The winners will be selected based on the quality of their project and their presentation.
• The decision of the supervising panel will be ultimate.

RULES

• One of the participant in the group must register for O-ZONE on the Xplore 2010 site. For registration information go to Rules and regulations page.
• A team must consist of 2 members only.
• The competition will be a web-based application development.
• The application should be developed using PHP and MySQL.
• Tools provided : Dreamweaver CS4, WAMP server 2.0.
• All requirements would be provided to the participants at the venue. So he/she need not carry any extra software’s or tools.
• If a participant is found carrying any such additional tools he/she would be disqualified without prior notice.
• Preliminary round will be a written exam based on PHP and MySQL containing 30 questions to be completed in 15min.
• The final round will be conducted after the prelims.
• 5 teams will be selected for the final round.
• The problem statement for the application development will be announced on the spot.
• Participants will be given 6 hours to develop their application
• The evaluation of the application will be based on design, functionality and interface.

RULES

• Individual event.
• The participant must register for WEB HUNTING on the Xplore 2010 site. For registration information go to Rules and regulations page.
• The preliminary round will be conducted out of which 5 participants will be selected for the final round.
• In the final round the participant will be given a computer with internet connectivity.
• A topic will be given just before the competition begins. The topic need not be from computer science field itself.
• The contestant can use three hours for browsing the internet to collect information on the topic and for making the report.
• The report must have a minimum of 10 pages.
• The most elegant report will be declared as the winner.
• The decision of the supervising panel will be ultimate.

RULES

• Individual event.
• The participant must register for SOLVE IT on the Xplore 2010 site. For registration information go to Rules and regulations page.
• A written screening test based on computer hardware and troubleshooting will be conducted.
• Five top scorers of the test will proceed to next final troubleshooting round.
• Troubleshooting round consists of three stages.
• Each participant will be given a faulty PC in each stage.
• Marks will be awarded to the contestant based on the time taken for successful troubleshooting.
• The weightage of marks increases in successive stages.
• The winner of the competition will be decided based on the aggregate of marks obtained by the contestants in all the stages.
• The decision of the supervising panel will be ultimate.
